With continual examinations on copers at G-Techs’ in house testing facilities, constant testing on all products is carried out to ensure nothing leaves the factory under Network Rail standard.

G-Tech recently undertook further drop tests on their own tactiles to ensure strengths. In Network Rail Standard NR/L3/CIV/030 it states that all platform components should be required to withstand a solid weight of 1Kn dropped from a height of 1 metre impacting on a 300mm square. We carried out these tests on our tactiles, and traditional coper methods.

The G-Tech tactile withstood with no scuffing or damage but the test left the traditional concrete tactile system broken beyond repair, requiring replacement.
